How can music therapy aid it?

What Is Family Therapy

Family therapy helps children develop relationships with their parents, improve communication skills within the household, and assists the therapist in identifying problems within the family’s relationship. Through different instrumental and musical exercises, children are able to find ways to express their feelings to their parents, developing an efficient foundation for communication, allowing the parent to understand their child’s emotions more clearly when expressed in a musical way.

01 Communication Skills

Clients tend to show an attentive attitude towards the other’s needs, tensions, and emotions, but they also learned to become more aware of the other’s body language and which aspects need to be improved with communication at home.

In Children

Children are able to communicate their true feelings in a safe environment. They may also develop increased self confidence. Together, Parents and children can build stronger relationships while allowing the child to gain an understanding of their family situation.

In Parents

Parents learn to listen to their children (able to do so easier through artistic expression). This form of therapy also teaches them to become more attentive to their children's body language and mood. Along with therapists, parents are also able to identify issues between their relationships with their partner and child.
